This concert is part of the Instruments of Time & Truth Summer Concert Series 2021.
Accounts of concerts in the 17th and 18th Centuries are of full tales of star musicians one-upping each other, engaging in musical contests for the attention of the fickle and adoring crowds, and pushing their instruments to their limits.
This concert is a battle between the two proudest instruments of them all: the violin and the cornett. Gawain Glenton (cornett) and Bojan Cicic (violin) will duel it out in a dazzling display of music by Falconieri, Merula, Cazzati,Castello, Fontana, Marini, Cima, Bassano and Rognoni, with Silas Wollston attempting to keep everything in some semblance of order from the organ. An unmissable musical showdown!
